Pursuit Of Happiness (Nightmare)

tell me what you know about dreaming, dreaming
you don't really know about nothing, nothing
tell me what you know about them night terrors every night
5 am cold sweats waking up, to the sky
tell me what you know about dreams, dreams
tell me what you know about night terrors, nothing
you don't really care about the trials of tomorrow,
rather lay awake in a bed full of sorrow

For some reason this was the song that had an instant connection with me from the album. Maybe it was because at the time of listening to the album, I honestly felt like I wasn't at my most happiest, or because the beat was insanely mesmerizing. Either way this song was one of my favorites from the album and I'm super excited that Kid Cudi chose this as his next video/single!!

My bestfriend and I were JUST talking about [more so wondering] if Kid Cudi's album was on vinyl and where we could buy it from. And after watching this video, I did my research and found it!!! My sis is going to buy it for me for xmas! Now all I have to do is learn how to play the record on the record player and I will be set! Still bubbling over with excitement as I write this blog post (from the video and hopes of acquiring the vinyl as a xmas gift)! I'm about to go figure out how I can download this video so I can put it on my phone.

"Happy Birthday to [Me]"

Today's my 22nd birthday. It feels strange and semi sad typing that
number! Overall my birthday was pretty decent. Although I had class all day I just enjoyed the fact that the people I care about the most made me feel special in their own personal way. I'm too young to be talking about a mid-life crisis but I do feel like I need to do
something different; move my life in a new direction and stop going
through the motions on my current path. *shrugs* I'm sure when the
time comes, some undeniable sign will come to show me the way; until then I'm going out in style and ending my birthday with a midnight showing of Twilight's New Moon! Team Edward here I come!

"When I Fall Asleep..."

"It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep Cause everything is never as it seems (When I fall asleep)"

I have absolutely no idea why this has been my song of choice for the past few days. It's something about the beat that captures me. Yeah there's no complexity/geniuses to the lyrics but the whole song just draws me in. So with any unfamiliar artist I come across, I google searched anything and everything i could find about this song and the person behind it. The artist is Owl City and the song "Fireflies" is on the recent album "Ocean Eyes" that was released back in July. The guy is basically an insomniac and the album consists of the all the thoughts most sleep deprived people think of. It's definitely worth a listen or two.

Samsung SCH-W760

Tech Specs:
  • infrared 3-megapixel camera
  • runs on 3G network
  • 2.8-inch AMOLED display with 240x400 resolution
  • 8GB of internal memory (microSD memory card slot for addition memory storage)

Samsung, if this product is positioned correctly, could take the lead in the on-going "let's see how many great features we can fit into one device" battle. In a market where iPhones and Blackberry's are considered to be the top consumer phones, it's always nice to see what the other competing companies can bring to the table as well. And, with a great feature like an infrared camera that allows users to shoot videos in low-light to no- light environments, Samsung may finally be in a league of their own. If dropped in the states, the Samsung SCH-W760 may cost $457, and will probably take homemade sex tapes to the next level.

Let Us Pray--Before Sex

"Place within us love that truly gives, tenderness that truly unites, self-offering that tells the truth and does not deceive, forgiveness that truly receives, loving physical union that welcomes. Open our hearts to you, to each other and to the goodness of your will. Cover our poverty in the richness of your mercy and forgiveness. Clothe us in true dignity and take to yourself our shared aspirations, for your glory, forever and ever."
According to a Catholic charity in Britain, the above prayer is one that was created for couples to say right before they have sex. Before your brains start working, this prayer was created for married couples. Not couples that are just dating. Not engaged couples. And not couples who gave each other the nicknames "Hubby" and "Wifey".

Although the intent behind this prayer was to remind married couples to always keep God first and foremost in their marriage, I'm not too sure I can agree with the whole praying before sex deal. The sex prayer strikes me as strange and just a bit awkward. But on the flip side, if the majority of unwed couples said this prayer (or some sort of prayer besides the hope that the person is "as good as they look") before sex, then many people would have a smaller body count. What do yall think??

Out Of Your Life

I was up real late one night and of course there's nothing on tv around this time but straight informercials. Anywho, this particular commercial came on basically advertising how you could turn the jewelry you still have from an ex into new jewelry pieces. Like a collar for your pet, a new bracelet, and so on. So I went to the website to check it out and this website is basically like those "cash for gold" type of deals. They'll send you a "break-up box", which is where you place the unwanted jewelry you either want to sell or melt down for "new" jewelry.

At first I was seriously amused but then began to think about it further. When relationships end most people either pawn, throw away, or give back the jewelry that the ex gave them. I guess it's the whole 1. It's over so you shouldn't keep souvenirs & 2. If the material things are out of your sight, then maybe you can convince yourself that the person is out of your mind aw well. So if you were to melt down the jewelry you received from your ex and turn it into something else, wouldn't the "new" jewelry still be a constant reminder of that person? How could you seriously look at a dog collar, new grill, necklace, bracelet, or ring without thinking about your ex?

Example Situation:
"Hey [insert name] that's a nice necklace! Where did you get it?"

"Oh I had this company melt down the watch, ring, and bracelet my ex bought me and turn it into this necklace."

"Lemme Buy You A [@mention]"

it's the little things like this that make me love Twitter and love humble artists even more. btw if you don't know who this dude is i got you covered.

"Fatkids Unite!!" : Explained

"Who are these fat kids you keep talking about? And why are yall uniting?"
This past summer, i would always find myself either eating or thinking about certain foods (extremely random cravings). And when i had these moments, i would turn to Twitter and tweet that i was having a fat kid moment. Due to Twitter's character limit, i later shortened and summed those moments up to "fatkids unite!!". This usually let all my "Tweeps" (the one's who actually paid attention) know that i was going in heavy on some type of food, almost always demolishing the food in front of me.

Recently, I've been getting positive feedback about my slogan (mostly laughter, but feedback is feedback) so i decided to finally explain what that saying meant and where it came from. So the next time you have a strange craving or find yourself eating a huge amount of food its a "fatkids unite!!" moment.

Disclaimer: No tweep or blogger (well not this tweep/blogger) become obese due to this slogan, mind-frame, or lifestyle, but still don't try this at home without the proper will-power or gym equipment.
